The Palacký University Press connects the academic world with the general public through specialist and popular science publications. It supports original scientific research while seeking new ways to make specialized topics accessible to the general public. In addition to scholarly publications and textbooks, it is therefore increasingly focusing on popular science literature and innovative forms of science communication, as well as other activities that foster dialogue between science and the public.
The range of the publishing program naturally reflects the focus of the individual faculties at Palacký University. The Palacký University Press publishes books in the fields of medicine and healthcare, education, natural sciences, the humanities and social sciences, art and theology. Thanks to this diversity, it boasts one of the broadest university publishing portfolios in the Czech Republic.
The ability to bridge the gap between the academic community and the general public is one of the publishing house’s defining characteristics. It is not afraid to experiment with new formats, whether comics, interactive publications, or other unconventional book projects. It fosters collaboration with cultural institutions, museums, and both Czech and international authors.
